Here in Greater Victoria, there are more than 1,500 people experiencing homelessness on any given night. 17% are youth under the age of 25. That's an #unignorable issue that you can help change.
It's time to give back
Did you know that 80% of youth on the street have mental health and anxiety issues or fled from abuse? United Way Greater Victoria funds programs that help prevent vulnerable youth from ending up on the street and shelters to house them when they do.

"I saw a jewel in Tre - his raw honesty," says youth advisor Elisha.
Elisha met Tre when he was 18, transitioning out of foster care. His depression had reached rock bottom. He was unable to tackle the basics of adulthood like cleaning his room or maintaining good hygiene. A local youth program - funded in part by United Way - caught Tre at a critical turning point in his life.
Now 21 years old, Tre is full of insight, random facts and quips. He's working as a sales associate at a skate shop in Victoria.
